Yes, if we do not do anything, then yes, we will only get our GC's as per the calculator- which is 2024 and beyond. If we want it earlier, we need to educate: Get vocal: Vocal about reforming employment based immigration laws. Lobby the government: (which means we need to contribute money to IV to make a war-chest- to pay the lobbyist.), Get noticed: Which means we have to meet our lawmakers.

Thats exactly what I asked. How come your dates are current? Is your PD 2005? Just curious because if your LC was obtained recently, how could your PD be so early to become current? Now this is only a problem for countries like Indian and China. For the rest of the world everything is current I guess. Good for you anyway.

Guys don’t presume you don’t have rights for this and that. late in spring of 2005 I had a meeting with my state’s senator and he took all my details and wrote to Backlog Center in Philadelphia. After 2 months his office called me and send me the correspondence they got from BEC. They had description about my file etc. my labor was cleared in a month after that. Apparently BECs informed his office about the approval too, and to my surprize they called me up again and told me the news. They are public office they are answerable to us, we need to ask…
I'm not saying we don't have rights, but what you are asking are the internal workings of a government agency.
You can't even vote. You can't even just change employers without hassle. You can't even just leave the country and come without proper documents. You can't even apply for a student loan. You can be deported any time you have a problem. You can't even renew your driver's license without showin proof of proper residency.
Even with GC your rights are still not as good as a US citizen.
Yes we do have rights.
But the government is only answerable to a certain level. You cannot ask for information of the internal workings of a government. That's not going to happen.

I was totally overwhelmed. After yesterday’s round, which took about 24 hours to close (estimation, I didn’t check), I was worried if we will be able to finish this round. 1. Applied on August 01 st (Vermont Service Center)
2. Receipt date Oct 2nd.
3. REF on Nov-26 for passport copies.
4. Responded to Ref on Nov-28, Sent passport copies on
5. Update in uscis web-site on 27-Dec-07 "approval notice sent"

First of all congratulations to ind_game.
Today I received NOID for not submitting AC21. My I-140 is not revoked. I received an RFE last month for birth certificate & updated g-325a form. In the g-325a form I mentioned my current employer which would have triggered NOID for AC21.
I left the GC sponsored employer after 9 years on May 2008 well after 180 days and joined an insurance company. The company got hammered by financial crises. So I left that company and joined other stable company on Dec 2009 as a full time employee.
My current job description is similar to the one mentioned on ETA but not same. I am not sure if changing 2 jobs will be a problem.
If anyone had submitted any documents for AC21 please share. I will really appreciate it.

Who knows, maybe Obama is preparing for CIR 2009 now. Before CIR he maybe planning to push all legal EB cases. Remember July 2007 fiasco happened in the backdrop of CIR 2007.

My guess is , The new president appears to be strict. So his question to the department very soon will be "What the heck you've been doing with all these cases not touched so far. So they want to do their part even before the big boss asks them. So that way the only issue will be lack of numbers, else everything is ready and look, we did our job. We're very efficient :)

Correct me if I am wrong, ---but I thought that "This Ammendment" was attached to a defence bill. I dont think that it was the ammendment that was shot down, but the whole defence bill.

This particular Cornyn amendment (S.Amdt. 2339) offered to attach to H.R. 2669 (College Cost Reduction Act of 2007 ), but the motion was failed due to lack of 5 votes.(55 YEAS and 40 NAYs. Require 3/5 majority) HR.2669 is passed by both Senate and house and sent for conference to resolve the difference between house and senate versions and president is sure to sign the bill and thus would become the law in another few days. This amendment does not have anything to do with defence bill or with SKILL bill. Following is the actions taken by congress of HR 2669.
IF THE AMENDMENT HAD PASSED WE WOULD HAVE GOT ATLEAST 240,000 RECAPTURED, UNUSED VISAS OF PREVIOUS YEARS IN ANOTHER FEW DAYS.
