Dreaming on the April Visa Bulletin in the US
How about placing a fast forward button and soon you will realized that the US Immigration DOS will issue a spectacular Visa Bulletin for April 2009. See the results of the said bulletin. The Employment base Visas will be current except China. So how did the USCIS allocate these number of Visas, for sure Obama had precedent a recapture except China.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

Made another $100 contribution today. I hope that all members now realize that IV is doing a great job of addressing our issues and finally coming up with some results. This is just the beginning and the member contribution will determine how much more IV can accomplish. If we all don't join forces and contribute one way or the other, 8 or 10 core members alone can't do much.
Membership and their contribution is the real strength of core team and if either one of those dries up, IV will no longer exist and all EB folks will once again become the step child of immigration process and no one will care about us. We have a voice now through IV, people know that we exist and realize the legal immigration process is badly broken and needs repair. Government and politicians have taken notice and agree that there is a problem with legal immigration. This is very significant. If we would like to continue this fight, contribution is a must.
For those who are still hesitating to contribute, there is always that F5 (refresh) key which you can keep pressing and hope that some how pressing that F5 key enough times will result in some relief. You folks have more faith on that F5 key than IV and I wish you good luck with your green card process. Once you do get your green card, please let us know how many times did you have to press that key to get a green card. That will set the bar for the future generation of EB applicants.

There are 2 options in my opinion.
1. Secure an appointment with the local ASC and have them expedite this case if you want to travel early. They may require some supporting documents. The appointment can be made via Infopass at http://infopass.uscis.gov/index.php
2. Call USCIS at the number on your receipt notice. Select a series of numbers as per the prompts to talk to a Service Rep. Tell them your urgency to travel and they will expedite your case. It will take 5 business days from the date the request gets expedited to get a response back from USCIS.

If possible can you allow people to donate any amount they want?
I did $100 donation and transaction Id is 4V64496321804025H. I have sent this information to all of my friends. There might be some people who want to donate but less than $100 one time donation.
My understanding is that IV is having around 24,000 members and even if everybody donates $2 then it will be around $46K. So if possible please send a mail to all the members to do at least $5 donation.

We can't just poke around an established government agency because we feel they are not doing their job properly.

I was not married to her when she got her green card.It is even more difficult if we wait for family based petition, so we decided to get it through EB3, which at that time the sched A was very much highlighted.I am also ff any ammendments offered but to our dismay,the battle is even more uphill.She works in ICU and she said that it is undeniably true that shortage of nurses is everywhere.Am sure our wives are also suffering just as bad.Hope none of the lawmakers have to wait in ER becasue the nurse who is suppose to look after her/him is still waiting for his visa. this American dream is just taking its toll on a lot of people.It is very frustrating.

I think the longest wait I have ever seen is of my friend who entered the US in 1992. He did his Bachelors, then did some work on OPT, then did his Masters, then did some work on OPT, then tried to do PhD but couldnt finish it in , got a fulltime offer, worked on H1 then on extensions and finally got laid off in 2008 before his 485 could be filed. He had enough of it and finally said goodbye to US and left :) So that's 16yrs!

They most of the approvals are of US Master degree and above as it is straight fwd EB2 no need to verify skill set etc..
While I can't speak for all cases out there, I can speak for myself and a few of my friends...Master's degree from US universities - CHECK, green card - NOT YET! (the wait continues).

Also I want to make a suggestion, Please urge Congress via banners or what so ever means to take Legal Immigration and Illegal Immigration separately.
