I m a new applicant for EB 3 gc born in india.....just starting my process......with my PD being sometime in later half of 2009,do u think canada is a better option?......EB 3 india right now looks like a good 10-12 years wait time!!.......pls advice about canada immigration and is it a viable option?

I recently applied under 0213. I agree process is not as complicated as it sounds also I am not sure what value add a lawyer will do apart from keying information from you in the forms. My suggestion - do it on your own. If you filed early May and received a Notice of Receipt from USCIS, that means your I-485 is already in process, and you have been assigned an Alien Number already. The announcement from INS is very clear, "Effective Monday July 2, 2007 there will be no further authorizations in response to requests for Employment-based preference cases". It says EFFECTIVE JULY 2 and "NO FURTHER" right? That means the only ones affected are applications received July 2 and onwards.

I think that some people have been waiting for this for so long that they're now starting to get worried about anything the USCIS does nowadays. If I understood correctly someone above said that just having your application in processing does not mean you have been assigned a visa so I can understand why people who have recently sent in their application would be worried. It makes them wonder whether the USCIS' claim that they're out of visas also applies to them. It may sound simple to you, but neither you nor anyone here really knows what is going on in their minds up there, there are only speculations. If we knew what was happening, there wouldn't be so much discussion.

I have filed my I-140 through company A and waiting for approval but now I want to get my H1-transfer to non-profit organization(company B). Can I do my H1 transfer to company B and keep my Green card process continue with company A. Also this company B is paying less salary then company A , will this effect my I-485
Also how safe it is to transfer H1 from profit to non-profit organization. What if tommorrow I want to get H1 transfer back to profit organization.
Some people say that H1 transfer for profit organizations fall under H1 transfer cap. Is this true?

What u can do ask your employer/attorney for the copy of the check cashed by TSC/NSC for I-140 and if u look at the back of it you will find the receipt no. That receipt no. is the same whenever u will get ur NOA so make the photocopy of front and back of the check and submit with your I-485 application and relax

By AF. It was an OK experience, except for the fact that they loot you on the transit visa fee. Also CDG airport has got to be the busiest but one of the worst airports in Europe. My baggage landed in Mumbai instead of New Delhi, but was sent to me by courier in 2 days time.
Also don't ask a second time for the I-94 form, as the stewardess will frown and shove it in your face. :p
Next time I shall pony up the additional fare for Thai, Singapore or Malaysian and never flying a European route again.
